This Safe Water Project is to support Water & Sanitation Improvements for the community of Santa Eulalia Huehuetenango, Guatemala, Rotary District 4250.  This Global Grant, GG 1759627, in the amount of $110,838.00 is for phase 2 of this multi-year project. It is co-sponsored by the club of Estero, Florida, District 6960.


This phase of the project will build out pipelines connecting more communities to pumping stations and construct two more holding tanks. With this additional infrastructure in place, clean safe water will be able to be distributed to other communities that were not connected to the Phase 1 portion of this project  This phase will impact  an additional 2500 residents.       


District 7280 and clubs in our district are being asked to assist with this Water and Sanitation improvements for this community in Guatemala. Of the matching funds for this grant, $60,000 has been raised and an additional $40,000 is needed to be raised. This is a three phase project covering the next three years.
Mike McElhaney, a AG from Kittanning Rotary club is coordinating the support for these projects. He has attended several international water projects and he will be in Huehuetenango  in February 2019 inspecting the projects and coordinating efforts for future projects.
