Youth Exchange

The Rotary Youth Exchange Program offers a chance for all clubs to take part in this special opportunity for world understanding.

Clubs are encouraged to participate in 3 ways:

  1. Recruit area high school-age students to live and study in another country as part of the Long Term/School Year Youth Exchange program. Students live with Rotary-recruited families in the other country and attend a year of high school.
  2. Recruit local families to host a student from another country while that student experiences U.S. culture and attends a year at a local high school.
  3. Recruit a student and her/his family to participate in the Short Term/Summer Youth Exchange program. This is a shorter program, typically offered during the summer months. No school attendance is required, but the returning outbound youth brings a sibling from the hosting family for a reciprocal stay in the original outbound’s home country during the same summer.
